As a retired high school science teacher, I have 22 years of experience in teaching. My passion for teaching is what inspired me to start Dr. Blua's Science-ology. I am dedicated to providing homeschool instruction that is tailored to each student's needs. I enjoy designing curriculum to meet the needs of the children and engaging them in hands-on activities and field trips. I am committed to helping each student succeed in their scientific journey.
My Story
I am a retired high school science teacher, with a B.S. and M.S. in Foods in Nutrition and a Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology. I started this home school instruction business to share my knowledge and love of science with students of all ages and abilities. My goal is to provide an engaging, comprehensive, and inspiring science education to students that exceeds the CA State Standards. My curriculum is based on my experience as a public school teacher, my own studies in nutrition and environmental toxicology, and is demonstrated by exploring the science of everyday activities such as gardening and baking as well as extraordinary chemistry experiments. I use a variety of hands-on materials and activities to ensure my students are fully engaged and having fun while learning. I also was a stay-at-home mom when my children were young and understand the importance instilling a sense of curiosity to keep young minds interested and wanting more.
